Kids books are colorful, vibrant and animated. They attract and engage kids with stories and cartoons and yet provide valuable learning to them. With everything going digital, Children’s books are not an exception. However, the ebook apps are custom made from each page to each chapter and this makes them costlier. AppBrick looked at this as an opportunity to provide a robust prepackaged solution. This solution would help publishers to create an interactive, fun and engaging kid’s ebook app quickly at less cost without any programming.

In addition to the cost and time effectiveness, the solution provides the publishers and parents with the valuable analytics. These analytics help parents know what their kids are interested in, compare performance with other users and their learning progress. With the help of analytics, publishers can create more robust eBook apps that are aligned with the interests, learning curve and methods best suited for the children. Apart from analytics, ToonBrick also supports third party integration, which is controlled by publishers. Being a platform, it can evolve itself to the needs of publishers, parents and kids by allowing multiple third party apps that would enrich the eBook app. The analytics and the third party app support make the ToonBrick powered eBook apps not only a learning tool but also a complete education platform. For example, the third party app would allow parents to create custom quizzes for their kids and help them monitor their kid’s progress through analytics. Overall, the solution bolsters the creativity and learnability of the children to the next level.

Creating a mobile app is a breeze, especially when you use ToonBrick solution. Our simple three-step process will guide you to create your app without any coding or technical expertise. Once you sign up, you provide the app name, pricing and description. Second step is to select your app design, icons, branding, font etc. Finally, from the dashboard, you can create your book by adding the chapters and its contents. You can also add the animations, audios and features for your book using the dashboard. Now, your custom children’s book app is ready for publishing.

Wait a second, don’t you want to test the app. Well you can test your app by downloading the ToonBrick testing app from the app store. The testing app is published by ToonBrick to allow its users to test the app. Play around with the testing app and once you are satisfied, you can visit the dashboard to review and publish your app. Even after you publish the ebook app, the ToonBrick provides the publishers the flexibility and control to change and modify the app. Once you modify the app from the dashboard, the changes are reflected in the released apps in real time.

Mobile app creation cannot be simpler than this.

Comics, cartoons and storybooks are once the entertainment and learning tools of kids. However, video games, mobiles and other entertainment media are gradually replacing them. Still, the cartoon and comics characters like superman, Mickey Mouse are alive in children’s mind. AppBrick looked at this as an opportunity to create a unique solution to engage children with the characters and stories they learn from their books and cartoons. StoryBrick is such a unique solution that could improve the creativity and learnability of the children while providing you the channel to connect with your customers (children) closely. StoryBrick is an iPad based storyboard solution that allows children to create their own stories using the characters, backgrounds, and voiceover & text bubbles in the app. The app also allows the children to record, play and share their stories with their friends and family. It also has unique feature known as Hall of Fame that ranks the best stories of the children on each genre based on the public voting. This feature gives excitement and recognition to children for their creation. More than that, it provides you the trends and analytics of children interests in the books and other media. To sum it all, we bring creativity to children.

Creating a mobile app is a breeze, especially when you use StoryBrick solutions. Our simple three-step process will guide you to create your app without any coding or technical expertise. Once you sign up, you provide the app name, pricing and category details. Second step is to select your app design, icons, branding, font etc. The final step is to upload the characters and their corresponding animations, background content that you want in your app. You can also add the features like voice over, story recording and sharing in your app. Now, your custom children storyboard app is ready for publishing.

Art galleries are the powerhouses of the exemplary artworks that are much sought by art collectors and corporate offices across the world. Generally, customers visit the art galleries to select the artworks they like and will try them in their homes, offices or their premises. Once they are satisfied, they buy the artworks to adorn their homes or offices. This whole cycle takes time and more importantly, customers should be pleased with the art that perfectly suits their environment. We looked at this as an opportunity for performance improvement using technology. A technology that is smart, intuitive and most importantly accessible. Outcome of such a thought was ArtBrick.

ArtBrick solution empowers you to create your own mobile/ipad art visualization app. This solution is developed for art galleries to create mobile/ipad apps for their customers. The app is purpose is to bring the artworks to customer’s premises virtually, so they can visualize them in their own settings. Customers can use the app to take photo of their walls, fit the artwork they like from the art catalogue, try different frames, shadow effects, scaling and perspective features. It also allows customers to share their visualized settings with their families and friends to make collective decisions. In one word, it brings the art galleries to your home.

Creating a mobile app is a breeze, especially when you use ArtBrick solutions. Our simple three-step process will guide you to create your app without any coding or technical expertise. Once you sign up, you provide the app name, pricing and category details. Second step is to select your app design, icons, branding, font etc. The final step is to upload the artworks and frames that you want to catalogue in the app. You can also add the features like scaling, perspective and shadow effects in your app. Now, your custom art visualization app is ready for publishing.

Wait a second, don’t you want to test the app. Well you can test it by downloading the ArtBrick testing app from the app store. The testing app is published by ArtBrick to allow its users to test the app before publishing. Play around with the testing app and once you are satisfied, you can visit the dashboard to review and publish the app.

One of the most common mistakes people make when creating their app is not spending enough time on this step.

We know you’re excited to dive into building your app but these two items will be the first thing that people see about your app.

- The Name -

Make sure it is intriguing enough for a person to click on your app. Also check the app store and android market to see how many people have the same app name!

- The Description -

This is the most important part. As in any sale pitch you only have the user’s attention for a split second. Make it count!

AppBrick’s Rules of a great description

1) It must explain what the app does (you might laugh but some don’t!)

2) It must be concise.

3) Use Action Verbs. It makes it more exciting to read!

4) Be Creative. (The hardest rule)

5)Have a friend read your description before you submit it. Ask them to tell you what they think the app does and if they would download it based of the description. What might seem like a descriptive statement might not make any sense to someone who has never seen the app!

We understand that branding can be a little difficult but we are always here to help.

Uploading icons

definition: Icons are what the customer sees on their smart phones.

You should be looking for images that are square and tell a lot about your app. This however does not mean that the icon should have text. Most commonly they are pictures that represent your company.

You then have to resize your icon to 512 x 512 pixels to make sure it fits. If you don’t have software to do this on your computer you can use Aviary. You can upload your image to their sight and then “resize it” to 512 x 512.

Uploading a Splash Screen

definition: Splash screens are the first image that the app user will see. It is the preview while the app is loading.

A splash screen provides a perfect time to brand your app. It is usually a nice looking image with the app title. If you don’t have software for the splash page Aviary is a free tool that you can overlay text and play with images. You also can use this tool to re-size the image to 320 x 480 pixels.

Facebook Fan Page URL

definition A fan page for people on facebook to “like” and suggest it to friends.
Finding your URL to your facebook fanpage is easy.

It is usually www.facebook.com/***

Replace the “***”s with the name of your fanpage.

Please test it in your browser before adding it.

Don’t have a fan page? Don’t worry. We’ll have a blog post soon to show you how to make a great one! Please shoot an email to Contact@appbrick.com and tell us you want this!

Twitter Account

Like the facebook URL your Twitter account is usually

www.twitter.com/***

Replace the “***” with your username.

Don’t have a twitter for your app? Don’t worry. We’ll have a blog post soon to show you how to make a great one! Please shoot an email to Contact@appbrick.com and tell us you want this!

I hate to copout but there is absolutely no “solve-all” correct answer to this. There are apps on the market going for $999.99 for Law Students studying for the Bar Exam down to thousands of free apps. It really depends on your content but be confident! You know your market the best!

Be Sensible

The current average iPhone app price is $2.26.
Does it fill a problem?

If your app is fulfilling a HUGE problem but has a small market then charge a premium for it. People are willing to pay to fix a problem. For example if you are a providing flashcards for medical school students and they are comprehensive and offer the same information as a course that costs a lot of money then charge them! If it has a huge market but people could easily substitute it for something else provide a sweat free option and charge them $.99. There are over 500 Million users on the markets….you do the math… $.99 goes a long way.

Gauge the Market

We suggest you go on to the app markets; Android & iPhone look for your type of app and see what other people are selling them for. It might be a good idea to also preview them and make an educated guess on if your content is of greater quality then theirs. People are willing to pay a premium for content that creates a lot of value for them. You have to step back and ask “how many people currently view my content.” It might be APParent to you, but take the time to ask others! Ask friends and family how much they would pay for your app. Also if you have any questions or need advice the AppBrick Team is always hAPPy to answer question.
